To answer your question Karl the sights on the G36 are detachable. Also, this is for you to mount a scope or optic sight on.

this type of mount is for an aimpoint style scope. which use a 1 ring set-up. this thing looks bad a@# i wanna get it for my m4 8)

this is better for flashlights not scopes if your going to use this for a scope i wouldn't recommend it at all get at least 2 rings for a scope. Works great on side rails for flashlights etc. that way can actually use laser.
