It is famous for its reliability, especially its strong adaptability in harsh conditions like sand dust or muddy conditions. No matter used in snow plateaus, desert or in jungles, type 56 is still as stable as original condition.
Type 56 7.62mm assault rifle adopts the gas operating system and the rotating bolt locking mechanism. Coming with 30rds half-moon magazine, wooden fixed stock, semi-auto and full-auto shooting mode, the gun fires ammunitions like type 56 7.62mm bullets (former Soviet Union 7.62mm M1943 rifle ammunition), light tracer, incendiary tracer bullets, and armor-piercing incendiary bullets.
Initial type 56 assault rifle adopted the design of AK-47III, and the frame was formed by forging blank cutting. Defects of this frame are somewhat heavy, complex production process and high cost. In the late 1960s, China adopted the advanced technology of AKM, changing frame into stamped sheet steel fixed together by rivets and spot welding. In a result, the improvement renovated the flow chart of manufacturing.
Type 56 was optimized basing on the original AK-47：
Internally it was optimized on the design and technique including the trigger guard, metal trigger return spring, firing pin and hammer. This improvement prolongs the entire gun?s usage. Externally, the most remarkable feature of type 56 is the folding spike bayonet. The front sight base was changed into a ring guard with a hole on the top. The improvement made front sight base more durable and effectively avoided mistakenly seeing the wing as the post when shooting at night. | Keeping this special historical memory and making a stable RS type 56 AEG, with firm appearance and solid function as real steel is all along the RS people?s dream.
